How long do transfers take?

Updated at March 20th, 2024

Transfers can be as soon as instant, or as long as 3 business days depending on what type of transfer you are performing and how you initiate it.

Instant Transfers: Use your Zeta debit cards with a service like Cash App, Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, etc. and you can perform transfers that move funds in seconds. Log in to their app or website to create the transfer. Zeta Accounts also support incoming wire transfers from US bank accounts, this way you can transfer funds out of your external account immediately and send them to your Zeta Account. Incoming wire transfers should arrive into your Zeta Account within 4-6 business days.

ACH Transfers out of your Zeta Account: There are no hold periods for outgoing ACH transfers initiated in the Zeta app to an external checking account. Funds sent to your external checking account from your Zeta Account typically arrive within 1 business day.

ACH Transfers into your Zeta Account: You can perform incoming ACH transfers in as little as one business day. To do so, do not create the transfer within the Zeta app. Instead, log in to your external bank account's website or app and create the transfer from their side, "pushing" the funds to your Zeta account. When you do it this way, funds will arrive in as little as 1 business day depending on time of day when you submit it.

Alternatively, you can create incoming transfers within our app. There is a 3 business day processing and hold period to allow us to submit the request to the ACH network, wait for the recipient bank to receive it, then wait for the funds to arrive.

The fastest and most common way funds are deposited to Zeta accounts is through payroll direct deposit. By doing so you get access to those funds immediately on payday and also get access to more features like Mobile Check Deposit by qualifying for VIP status.
